The adjective natural is used in a variety of different contexts in linguistics:
- in the phonological term natural class
- in the term natural language
- with reference to linguistic structures that are in some sense preferred; see natural (of structures), naturalness
- in the names of some approaches in which naturalness plays a role, especially Natural Phonology and Natural Morphology
