Ethnologue, a publication of SIL International, is the most authoritative catalogue of human languages to date. It contains an ISO-standardised listing of 6,912 living known languages and their genealogical classification (following Frawley 2003), as well as a number of recently extinct ones.
Ethnologue appears both as a searchable web application and in written form.
