Reduplicant
Revision as of 17:19, 3 February 2008 by Haspelmath (talk | contribs)
In morphology, the reduplicant is the element that is added to the base as a result of a reduplication operation (e.g. Haspelmath 2002:24).
Example
In Latin, the Perfect of curro 'I run' is formed by reduplication: cu-curri. Here cu- is the reduplicant.
