In morphology, comparative is a particular kind of adjectival inflection.

Examples

When the English comparative suffix -er is attached to adjectives such as long, big, happy etc. the morphologically complex adjectives longer, bigger and happier share the meaning 'MORE ADJECTIVE'. These adjectives often introduce a comparison: longer than ..., bigger than ... etc.
