A natural language is a language that is used by humans for ordinary purposes of communication. The term is used only in special contexts where formal languages of mathematics or logic or programming languages are important. Sometimes it is also used in contrast to artificial languages such as Esperanto, although such languages are often used by humans for ordinary purposes of communication.
