Relational is a property of predicates, esp. those denoted by nouns and adjectives. Nouns and adjectives is said to be relational when they require an argument in order to be interpreted, e.g. president (of a given institution or organization) and similar (to something).

Predicates which are not relational (do not require an argument in order to be interpreted) are said to be absolute.
