'Tactics in Stratificational Grammar is a pattern on each stratum, a tactic pattern of relationships specifying the well-formed combinations of the "elements" of the stratum. The tactics is analogous to the traditional syntax, but instead of there being one tactics for the whole language, a separate tactics is believed to exist on each stratum.
