Parasynthesis is a word formation process by means of which a discontinuous affix or circumfix is added to a base.
Example
the addition of the Dutch discontinuous nominal circumfix ge-..-te to underived nouns is an example of parasynthesis: berg 'mountain' - gebergte 'mountains', been 'bone, leg' - gebeente 'bones'.
